Product associations between eBay and PrestaShop

Product associations between eBay and PrestaShop

Associating PrestaShop product categories to eBay categories is a fundamental step for the module to work.
To start the association, go to the tab "Listings" then "List of categories" and click on "Add a category".
The association is done in 4 steps:

Step 1

Here you will need to specify:
  1. The product category of PrestaShop
  2. The corresponding category on eBay
  3. The corresponding category of your eBay store
Make sure that the PrestaShop category you choose is a "Main" category.
A product is really associated to a category only when it appears as a main category. The products to be imported must therefore be associated with the category chosen as the main category.
For example, you want to export to eBay all the products in the category Home > Accessories > Stationery.
In the following image, the product is nested in this sub-category, but the main category is "Accessories".

By associating the category "Stationery" to the eBay module, the product will not be exported to eBay because this category is not the main category of the product.
To make the synchronization procedure work correctly, you will have to change the main category of the product and choose "Stationery".
Before continuing, it is also possible to specify an impact on the price by choosing an exact amount or a percentage.
If you have created sales policiess on your eBay account, the module will ask you which ones to associate with the products you are about to publish.
If no sales policies have been created on eBay, the module will not display this section.

Step 2

Match PrestaShop product features with eBay product features. Some product categories on eBay, require to specify additional characteristics. In this case, you will have to create the requested characteristics on PrestaShop and enter a value in the new field before synchronizing.

Step 3

At this point, you can choose whether to exclude certain products from the synchronization.
Choose then, confirm the list of products that will be synchronized on eBay.

Step 4 :

Check the association, then save the changes.

Step 5 : Start again

Repeat the procedure to associate a new category.
Starting with module version 2.1.9, the categories already synchronized are highlighted with red color.

The products will be sent to eBay according to the options defined in the module:
- At the end of the association process
- at the execution of the CRON task.
The eBay module displays the date and time of the last synchronization.

Synchronize products with variations

Products in your PrestaShop catalog with multiple variations are synchronized into one listing if the corresponding eBay category allows it. Most categories accept "multi-version" eBay listings.
On the contrary, if the eBay category corresponding to your PrestaShop category is not compatible with this type of products, the eBay module will create several listings on the Bay marketplace: one listing for each variation.
